The news of Donald Trump today: the ex-president promises to deport “millions and millions” if he is re-elected in 2024
Trump says he can declassify top secret documents just ‘by thinking about it’
Former President Donald Trump has said he would deport “millions and millions” of immigrants if re-elected in 2024.
During an interview with FoxNews, when host Sean Hannity asked him “if you were to win and become president… how long do you think you could get things back to where you had them when you left?” the former president said: “Very quickly, except for one thing: millions of people are now in our country who shouldn’t be here. Many of them are prisoners, criminals.
When the host asked her “would you like to kick them out?” he replied: “The wicked, I will deport them. Millions and millions of people have… they are poisoning our country. They poison – I wish I was nice to that.
In other news, Mr. Trump’s lawyers have been ordered to say one way or another if they actually believe the FBI planted incriminating evidence in the documents seized from Mr. Trump — or if the former president is simply bluffing to save face.
EXPLAINER: Declassification in the spotlight during the Trump probe
Donald Trump has made very searching statements about his supposed authority to declassify documents found by FBI agents at Mar-a-Lago.
But notably, his lawyers have not actually followed up and made this claim in legal documents on his behalf, showing the dysfunction that defines Mr. Trump’s internal team and legal counsel.
Let’s see what a president can actually declassify — and what, if anything, it has to do with a former president who has left office.
