Liverpool transfer news: Jurgen Klopp and the Reds are likely to have a busy summer ahead as Liverpool transfer news will focus on some key departures and who could replace them.

VIDEO: Premier League analysis ]

With Sadio Mane leaving for Bayern Munich and Mohamed Salah still without a new contract, the status of Liverpool’s star strikers at Anfield has been a story all summer. This means Klopp and his famous recruitment team will have to act fast and big to potentially replace two superstars. One arrived in the form of Darwin Nunez.

The Reds have come so close to a quadruple in 2021-22 so improving this squad won’t be easy, but many fringe players are expected to move on and Liverpool will be a very intriguing side to watch this summer as they try to get past . Manchester City will win the Premier League title in 2022-23.

[ TRANSFER NEWS: Chelsea | Tottenham | Man United | Man City | Arsenal ]

Below we recap the latest deals, reports and rumors concluded and give our analysis on Liverpool transfer news as Joe Prince-Wright (JPW), Nicholas Mendola (NM) and Andy Edwards (AE) walk you through the next eventful months.

Transfers and signings confirmed for Liverpool 2022-23

In

Fabio Carvalho – Fulham ($8 million)
Darwin Nunez – Benfica ($84m, plus possible additional $21m) – MORE
Calvin Ramsay – Aberdeen ($6 million, plus a possible additional $3.5 million)

Out

Divock Origi (end of contract)
Loris Karius (end of contract)
Sadio Mané – Bayern Munich ($43 million)

Liverpool transfer news, live!

June 25 – Liverpool open to selling Salah this summer

Liverpool are reportedly ready to sell Mohamed Salah this summer as the Egyptian star has just one year left on his current contract. The Reds have been in talks with Salah for months over a new deal and according to a report from The Sun, Liverpool could sell Salah this summer for $74million. Real Madrid are the club Salah could move to as he looks to strengthen his attack after missing out on Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland this summer, according to the report.

Should Liverpool cash in on Salah like they did with Sadio Mane earlier this week? With a year remaining on his contract and no real movement on the talks, the situation is quite similar and Salah has won all he can at Liverpool. With the arrivals of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz over the past six months at Anfield, it looks like Liverpool have already taken steps to replace Mane and Salah in the long term. Now it’s about whether they sell Salah this summer or risk him canceling his contract and leaving for free next summer. The latter option would not be good for Liverpool from a business point of view, especially as they have been very good in terms of net outlays and similar substitutions over the past six years. (JPW)

June 22 – Sadio Mané unveiled by Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich claim Sadio Mane as a coup for their club and league after the Bundesliga champions unveiled the 30-year-old on Wednesday.

Meet Hasan Salihamidžić, Bayern board member:

“In Sadio Mane, a great international star arrives at FC Bayern, who has left his mark on world football. We are proud to have brought him to Munich. Sadio made it clear from the first minute of our discussions that he will not wanted to play more than for FC Bayern. Everyone knows his exceptional technical qualities as well as his incredible mentality. He will bring a lot and help lead our team, which has a great structure. The fact that he joins FC Bayern shows that He and our club have big goals. Sadio Mané is a perfect match for the football that FC Bayern plays under Julian Nagelsmann. (NM)

June 22 – Liverpool and Monaco agree transfer fee for Takumi Minamino

Takumi Minamino’s time at Anfield appears to be over after Liverpool and Monaco would have agreed on a transfer fee for the 27-year-old Japan international. The fee would be just under $16 million, with an additional $3 million possible in add-ons. After signing Minamino for $9m two and a half years ago, Liverpool are expected to make a small profit in the deal (plus the loan fee they received from Southampton in 2021. (AE)

June 21 – Sadio Mane arrives in Munich ahead of his move to Bayern

The Senegalese star is closing in on his move to Bayern Munich as he is in Bavaria for his medical. Mane, 30, will soon become a Bayern player after the clubs agreed on a fee of over $43million. Liverpool fans will be sad to see these scenes but Mane leaves a legend by scoring 120 goals in 269 games for the Reds and embodying what they were under Jurgen Klopp. At Bayern he will be the main man (Robert Lewandowski is expected to leave) and he was keen for a new challenge in his career after winning every trophy possible with Liverpool over the past six seasons. Mane’s incredible consistency, intensity and quality will be hard to replace and he will always be a hero at Anfield. (JPW)

June 19 – Calvin Ramsay arrives from Aberdeen

Highly rated right-back Calvin Ramsay, 18, has arrived from Aberdeen in a deal worth $8million. Ramsay was wanted by many Premier League clubs, but the pull of Liverpool was too strong and given Jurgen Klopp’s record of nurturing young talent (Harvey Elliott, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones to name a few). to name a few), this decision makes a lot of sense.

“There’s obviously a path here – that’s also one of the reasons I chose it. It’s not just a massive club, they give young players chances in the first team,” Ramsay said.

“So if I can come into pre-season, put my mark on, then there’s no reason why I can’t push to get into the first team.”

Ramsay was sensational for Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership and is already a Scotland U21 international. He will have his work cut out to replace TAA at right-back but perhaps his arrival will allow the Alexander-Arnold to move further forward or even play in central midfield? (JPW)

June 15 – Mane closes in on Bayern transfer

Liverpool are awaiting a fresh offer from Bayern Munich for star winger Sadio Mane as reports claim the Senegalese has agreed terms with the German serial champions.

Mane, 29, has been linked with Bayern for some time and Fabrizio Romano says it will be a three-year deal for the striker.

Liverpool signed Darwin Nunez in the summer and added Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota last season to reinvigorate their attack. That poses more questions for Mohamed Salah, who is entering the final year of his contract at Anfield (NM).

June 14 – Darwin Nunez unveiled by Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is excited about the potential of his latest massive purchase, particularly because eventual nine-figure striker Darwin Nunez is already very, very good.

“Darwin is a wonderful player; already really good but so much potential to get even better,” klopp said. “That’s why it’s so exciting, to be honest. His age, his desire, his thirst to be even better than he is now. His belief in our project and what we seek to do as a club.

Find out more about the latest big money from the League Cup and FA Cup winners here (NM).

June 12 – Liverpool set to sign Darwin Nunez for club record $105m

Darwin Nunez at Liverpool appears to be close to being done as the Uruguayan ace is believed to be on his way to Anfield.

According fabrice romano, the 22-year-old Benfica star has agreed a six-year contact at Liverpool and the Premier League giants have also agreed a transfer fee with his current club. According to the report, Liverpool will pay Benfica a guaranteed $84m and could pay up to $21m more in add-ons. After serving on international duty with Uruguay for the past few weeks, Nunez left the Uruguay side and flew to Madrid, Spain and is expected to travel to England to complete his medical and sign the contract on Monday.

Darwin Nunez impressed Klopp when Liverpool played Benfica (Nunez scored in every game) and is a rising star in world football. His aggression, clinical finishing and pace make him perfect for this Liverpool side and will fit in well alongside Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah (at least for next season) up front. Liverpool aren’t kidding once they identify a player they want to sign and Nunez ticks all the boxes that Jurgen Klopp expects from a striker. This deal makes so much sense that it’s almost too perfect. (JPW)

June 8 – Reds set to break transfer record for Darwin Nunez

Jurgen Klopp could bring Uruguayan centre-forward Darwin Nunez to Anfield as the Reds continue to spend as much as the next one. Nunez, 22, is going to cost a lot more than Manchester City paid for Erling Haaland, who had a release clause in his contract with Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool paid Southampton $94 million to acquire Virgil van Dijk. Benfica’s asking price for Nunez is expected to start at $106m, with Manchester United and Atletico Madrid among those also in discussion and able to raise the fee. Reports from Portugal say Liverpool paid the $106m fee. (NM)

June 7 – Liverpool lose Aurelien Tchouameni race as Real Madrid agree $107m deal

Liverpool was would have one of three clubs vying for Aurelien Tchouameni, but the 22-year-old Monaco midfielder is likely to head to Real Madrid after the reigning European champions once again beat the Reds. It will be $85 million upfront, with the remaining $22 million available through add-ons. (EA)

June 7 – Liverpool reject Bayern Munich’s opening bid for Sadio Mane

Bayern Munich reportedly offered $26m (plus another $5m) for Sadio Mane, but the Bundesliga giants were quickly turned away by Liverpool. Bayern will no doubt be back with another offer, although they hope to cap their costs at around $50m. (EA)

May 31 – Darwin Nunez on Liverpool’s radar

According to a report by FootballTransfers, Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez, 22, is a target for the Reds this summer. After a superb season at Benfica, the centre-forward is a wanted man as Manchester United, Newcastle, Real Madrid and several of Europe’s top clubs pursue his signing. With Sadio Mane looking to get out and question marks over Mohamed Salah’s future, Klopp may need to bolster that attack this summer. Having brought in Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota over the past 12 months, Liverpool have strength in depth but Nunez would give them something very different in attack with his hold-up game, running backs and ability to manage the channels from a central. position. Man City are going to have new faces in the fold and familiar names in the cold as they embark on a trek to win a fifth Premier League title in six seasons.

Fernandinho is gone and Oleksandr Zinchenko is expected to follow, while Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez are the players heading to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Manchester City transfer news, live!

June 23 – Goalkeeper moves involving Steffen, Stefan

Germany goalkeeper Stefan Ortega could become Manchester City’s No.2 keeper if Zack Steffen finds a transfer destination to his liking, according to Sky Sports.

Ortega, 29, has spent much of his career with Arminia Bielefeld, who were relegated to the 2.Bundesliga this season.

Steffen, meanwhile, may want to pursue a No.1 shirt this summer as Ederson is not at risk of losing his to Man City anytime soon and the USMNT backstop has engaged in a battle with Matt. Turner to start the 2022 World Cup.

The 27-year-old American cost City around $7-8million in 2019 on his second trip abroad. He was previously on the books of Freiburg and Columbus Crew, and played on loan at City’s Fortuna Dusseldorf in the 2019-20 season (although Fortuna were relegated).

Steffen signed a contract extension until the 2024-25 season, and Guardiola backed the USMNT man after a tough FA Cup semi-final. But walking away makes sense, and maybe a loan could also do the trick? (NM).

June 22 – Real Madrid take signing Raheem Sterling seriously

Raheem Sterling is considering both short-term (2022 World Cup) and long-term (the second half of his club career) plans to leave Manchester City this summer. There is interest in the Premier League (Chelsea), but the 27-year-old England international has equally if not more attractive options abroad with Real Madrid. would have heighten their interest.

Sterling has previously indicated that he would love to play overseas at some point in his career, and what better time could he do than still be at the peak of his career, seemingly as fresh as he will ever be after. having seen his playing time reduced. at Man City for the past 18 months. (EA)

June 10 – Gabriel Jesus wants to move to the Premier League

According to Fabrizio Romano, Gabriel Jesus wants to move to another Premier League side. He has been linked with Arsenal, while Tottenham are also said to be interested. With the arrival of Erling Haaland (see below), Jesus won’t be first choice at City and he’s been very good, consistently, over the past five years. However, the 25-year-old is said to be the main man at Arsenal and that surely appeals to him rather than signing for another club where he is the backup striker, as he was at City after being in the shadow of Sergio. Agüero season after season.

June 10 – Erling Haaland is on his way

The journey continues, as Erling Haaland posts a picture of himself wearing a Man City shirt as a child ahead of his move to City which will end on July 1. Previously, City had agreed a fee with Borussia Dortmund for his signature and it is believed that personal terms with Haaland would not be an issue to negotiate. It seems everything is settled now. Erling’s father, Alf-Inge, played for Man City and Haaland will follow in his father’s footsteps by playing for the Premier League. However, this Haaland will be spearheading City’s attack rather than mopping up in midfield. (JPW)

June 7 – Man City want $63m from Newcastle for Nathan Ake

Newcastle United are expected to make a move for Manchester City centre-back Nathan Ake this summer, but the Dutchman won’t come cheap. Man City intend to recoup the full $52m they paid for him two summers ago – plus a small profit on top. (EA)

June 2 – Marc Cucurella at Man City

He may have been Brighton and Hove Albion’s signing of the season, but will Marc Cucurella’s stay at the Amex Stadium be limited to one campaign? Spanish release El Desmarque says a deal to bring the former Barcelona left back to the Etihad Stadium. City need help there with Benjamin Mendy in serious legal trouble and Oleksandr Zinchenko ready to find a new home. Cucurella has been fantastic in the Premier League and will likely have grown up admiring Barca hero Pep Guardiola. For $40m that makes sense as Brighton would back down on the job but could use a profit of over $20m to reinvest in the job (or find that centre-forward/finisher to take their attack to the next level) . Jenny Han opens up about The Summer I Turned Pretty cast

New York Times bestselling author Jenny Han has teamed up with Amazon Prime Video to bring fans a live-action adaptation of her first published trilogy, The Summer I Turned Pretty, as a self-titled original series. In an interview with Variety, Han opened up about her thoughts as the show’s co-director on choosing the perfect cast, where she said, “I really wanted to find actors that felt real, natural, and fresh. There’s a sense of discovery about it. The kingpin was going to be Belly because it’s all about her. It was therefore very important for us to find the right Belly. Lola Tung had this freshness in her. She turned 18 on the show. It’s our first game and she’s never done it before. I think it’s really hard to manufacture some kind of innocence or novelty in things. There are so many meta elements to this – to Belly’s Big Summer and Lola’s Big Summer.

“The idea for this project came directly from our staff who work in our community every day,” says Pat Bohan, Municipal Assets Manager for the City of Medicine Hat. “They noted the extremely hot temperatures last summer and their impact on the public’s ability to enjoy our outdoors without convenient access to potable water to stay cool and hydrated. No guidelines or budget was allocated to address this issue, but they took it upon themselves to come up with a reasonable solution and submit it for approval.

The city reports that the water can be a little warm or discolored when the tap is first turned on, especially on hot sunny days, as 13 liters of water sit above the ground in the vertical column of the fire hydrants. It is recommended to run the water for a short time before filling a bottle to ensure it is at a comfortable drinking temperature.

Each station is designed so that the water jet is protected to only allow free fall into a bottle, cup or bowl of water. People will not be able to drink directly from the spout, which will reduce the risk of contamination.

The pilot program will run over the summer and will be evaluated based on usage (based on meter readings at each site), community feedback, and cost/benefit analysis.

Jeff Beck reveals details of album with Depp

Johnny Deppwho won a near-total victory in a defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard last week, and English guitarist Jeff Beck will release an album of mostly covers next month after going on stage together.

Called “18”, the 13-track album will be released on July 15.

“It’s almost like you’ve gone through a record store and you’ve gone from genre to genre,Beck told Reuters on Friday, saying they started working on the album at Depp in France.

“There’s a couple Motown, there’s a couple Beach Boy covers on … Sounds pretty good for a home recording. Depp and Beck have been recording music since 2019 for the album, which also features two original songs by Depp, who has his own band, the Hollywood Vampires. A song is about actress and inventor Hédy Lamarr.

“We slowly built songs that we love. We didn’t really design,” Beck said.

“He has…a very distinctive (voice) and he gets music and I hope I’ve allowed him to open up to songs that he wouldn’t otherwise be interested in.”

Beck said: “I hope I helped him a bit to have some kind of understanding and closeness and a joke, and to keep having fun.”

Beck was speaking on the sidelines of a blue plaque event honoring the late guitarist Jimi Hendrix at the London Hard Rock Hotel. The building was formerly the Cumberland Hotel, where Hendrix often resided before his death in 1970.

“It was one of the biggest voids left in rock ‘n’ roll,” says Beck.

June 11 – Gunners explore if they can sign Raphinha

We know Arsenal are prioritizing the signings of Gabriel Jesus and Youri Tielemans this summer, but according to The Telegraph they also have more than one eye on Raphinha. The 25-year-old Leeds and Brazil winger has just two years left on his contract at Elland Road and is expected to leave this summer. Barcelona, Liverpool and many other teams have been linked with Raphinha in the past but there is no move even though his agent (former Portuguese legend Deco) has discussed his soon to be moving client several times.

Would this be a good move for Arsenal? They already have a lot of players similar to Raphinha and reinforcement in midfield and upstairs (ahem, Tielemans and Jesus) should be their priority. If Raphinha is still available after that, he’s worth watching, but does he want Arsenal to need? They have Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli in the attacking midfield roles and it seems like a luxury signing and a bit unnecessary. But if the price is right (about $61 million is the asking price), its quality is unquestionable. (JPW)

June 10 – Young striker Marquinhos is set to join the Gunners for $3.7 million

Marquinhos, 19, is set to join Arsenal from Sao Paulo, according to The Guardian. They say Arsenal have ‘won the race’ to sign the Brazilian striker, who will sign a five-year deal. Marquinhos is definitely a player for the future after breaking through at Sao Paulo last season and being capped by Brazil at U17 level. As for a player for the here and now, this report indicates that Gabriel Jesus remains Arsenal’s top target. If they can bring in Jesus, Arteta will be delighted as the Gunners’ young side continue to push forward in direction as they battle for a top-four spot. (JPW)

June 9 – Alexandre Lacazette joins Lyon, which he left to sign for Arsenal

The departure of Alexandre Lacazette for Arsenal was already confirmed, but we now know that the 31-year-old French striker joined Lyon on a free transfer. Lacazette spent seven seasons with the Lyon first team, where he scored 129 goals in 275 appearances (in all competitions) from 2010 to 2017, before leaving Ligue 1 to sign for Arsenal. He made 206 appearances for the Gunners and scored 71 times in five seasons at the Emirates Stadium. (EA)

June 4 – Arsenal are one of the few clubs interested in Leeds’ Raphinha

While Nicolas Pepe waits (or, at least hoping) to leave the club this summer, Arsenal could soon have two things in abundance: 1) room on the wage bill (Pepe earns $175,000 a week), and 2) playing time for a star striker (that was already present). This is why Arsenal is would have consider making a move for Leeds star Raphinha, although they are likely to face fierce competition from other clubs as well as Leeds, who have dug their heels in and said Raphinha will only leave if a club respects their assessment. Although he and Bukayo Saka play a similar role, Raphinha is versatile enough to play in other attacking positions to bring together Arsenal’s two (theoretical) best forwards on the pitch. (EA)
