DDMA concludes meeting, likely to ban catering services in restaurants, only take-out allowed

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) held a meeting on Monday, January 10 amid the sharp rise in coronavirus cases in the nation’s capital. During the meeting, DDMA made it clear that there will be no lockdown. However, chances are the DDMA will ban on-site dine-in services at restaurants, but take-out services will be allowed.

Earlier, the DDMA issued a yellow alert in Delhi and imposed a night and weekend curfew. The night curfew will start from 10 p.m. and end at 5 a.m.

India records 1.79 lakh cases, 146 deaths in past 24 hours

India has seen a surge in coronavirus cases and in the last 24 hours the country reported 1,79,723 new coronavirus cases, 146 deaths. This is the highest number of cases reported since May 2020. The increase in cases is due to the novel coronavirus variant-Omicron.
